Presentations

Robert Bateman Timberwolves – AA Varsity Provincial Champions

Students from Robert Bateman Secondary’s Boys Football Team share with the Board their exciting season after winning the AA provincial title early in December 2022.

Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Partner Presentation: Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley

Cheryl Unger, Program Manager and Cassie Silva, Mentoring Coordinator from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley, provide a presentation about the partnership and mentoring programs which continue to thrive and expand in the district.

School Transportation

Melissa Markle was given an opportunity to speak on the current bussing concerns and the importance of equitable bussing throughout the school district.

Education

Secondary Schools Strategic Plan Report for 2021-22

Gino Bondi, Assistant Superintendent, provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to Strategic Goals 1.4, 1.5 and 1.3.

AP 104 Parental Rights and Responsibilities

Dr. Kevin Godden, Superintendent of Schools, provided a report to the Board for information.

Operations

Bus Driver Recruitment

Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided the Board of Education with an update regarding transportation and bus driver recruitment.

Review Provincial Operating Grant 2022-2023

Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided the Board of Education with information regarding the Provincial Operating Grant 2022-2023.

Second Quarter Budget Update

Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided updated information about the second quarter budget to the Board of Education.

Skills Canada Provincial Competition Partners' Luncheon Sponsorship

A recommendation was put forward that the Board of Education approve the request from Skills Canada BC to co-sponsor the 2023 Skills Canada BC Competition Partners’ Luncheon to a maximum amount of $2,000.
